## FPS describes how many **individual images (frames) are captured or displayed per second**. In video, higher FPS means smoother motion and the ability to create slow motion. In photography, higher FPS means faster burst shooting for action.

## **FPS in video**

**24fps:** The cinema standard. Natural, filmic look with subtle motion blur. Used in movies and narrative content.

**25fps:** PAL broadcast standard used in Europe and the Middle East.

**30fps:** NTSC standard. Slightly smoother than 24fps. Common for online content and YouTube.

**60fps:** Very smooth motion. Used for sports, gaming content, and 2x slow motion when played at 30fps.
